They'll usually include the deadline in the request e-mail/letter itself. Based on what I have read in this forum, it is usually 7 days.

If you have been previously denied visa or any application rejected then cic request it.

Requesting time varies a lot. I've seen some cases where it was requested within 4 days after submitting your application. For me it has been 2 weeks, still no request.
