How long to wait between applying for a visitors visa?

I have been living in Canada with my Canadian common law partner for the last year on a visitors visa and have applied for my 2nd extension so that I am able to remain in the country for another 6 months. She works full time and is more than capable of supporting me, I have a substantial amount of money in savings too so hopefully the extension will be accepted.

If for any reason an extension is denied and I have to return to the UK (I am English) is there a set period of time after which I can apply for another 6 month visitors visa? I have applied as a 'Skilled Worker' this year but I understand that this might take a long time to process and my partner and I obviously want to reduce the amount of time we have to spend apart.

Any info would be much appreciated ;D

If you have proof of having lived together for at least one year, then she can try sponsoring you as her common law partner.

Sorry did not answer your query. Anyway citizens of the UK do not need to apply for a visa. If you got a refusal and left, you would have then complied with the requirement . Some have entered Canada after a leaving a few weeks.

We have considered the sponsorship route but there were issues that arose, she needed to have been earning a specific amount of money for a whole year and she has spent some of that time being unemployed (travelling, etc.). We've also put a lot into my skilled worker application and I should be accepted based on my qualifications and experience in the construction industry, it's just a matter of when they get around to reviewing my case (I'm sure they're snowed under with the volume of applicants right now).

Of course! I didn't think that I wouldn't need to apply for a visa in advance (I've spent WAY to long in the visa mindset!). I had a bit of trouble going through immigration the last time when I didn't have a return ticket, I'm guessing it would probably be the same again but I'd have to work a way around it I suppose.

There is no financial requirement for spousal applications as long as your partner is not on welfare or bankrupt. I think you have been reading the wrong guideline.

Also, the FSW route can take as long as 3 years, whilst the common law Outland via London can take as little as 4 months.

You have been putting the wrong amount of work into the wrong immigration application. Start again with the common law application, being from the UK with a skill needed in Canada should make your application very quick. Yes you can apply Outland whist being in Canada too.
