I understood 12mo of employment + 5mo processing.= 17months?

There is no maxumum processing time. However plenty of people wait more than a year.
Note that 12 months of employment doesn't guarantee you will receive an invitation under Express Entry. Whether you are selected or not will depend on how many points you have.
