how long it will take for background check re-do?

hi,

its been 19 months of processing for my application, its because my wife just received her confirmation of permanent residency last Nov.23,2009.

Two weeks ago my wife's MP got a reply from Abu dhabi -Canadaian embassy regarding to my Application Status. this office said that i must go to Canada before the 19th of February 2010, because my Medical will expires on Feb.19,2010. But they said that they cant still finalized the Visa because they are still waiting for my Background check. They re do my background check coz' its been more than a year since my application started to be processed.

They also said that they are not sure when the results of the background will be finished. and if this background check will not be finished before the feb.19,2010 i must redo the medical. its means that it will take another months of waiting...

I appreciate if some here could share their thoughts... or if you have the same experience on these background checks..

as of now...my wife and i... are very nervous about this..

I am in a similar situation minus the med results because i have been asked to redo them as well along with police clearnace...We did the police check in december in submitted it to the visa office December 31st

I contacted my MP and they were still waiting on there background check to clear thursday the 21st of january.

So there you have it roughly a month mabey a little longer but I really do belive it depends on the visa office.....

The appointed us a BF date febuary 14th ....So i hope that gives you a idea
