We submitted a skilled worker visa application in February 2008. We live in England. We were told it takes about a year before the embassy would open our application. When this didnt happen I looked into it to find out that there had been changes. As from February26th anyone who subbited their application after this goes onto a faster track system of 6 -12 months. Unfortunately we are stuck in the old system!

Just wondering if anyone can shed light on a few questions

Is it true that the wait has now gone from 31/2 years to 6?

Anyone who submitted their application after us will now get processed before us?

Is it just question of patience as I get really down with not knowing

If my husband was to get a job in Canada would this speed up our visa?

Thanks you

whether it has gone from 3.5 to 6, there is no evidence of that as far as i know.
Yes, most of those who submit before you would get theirs faster but they will still work on the old ones.
Yes, it is a question of patience but if you qualify under the new rules, you can apply through that too.
If your husband gets a job, he can also try through the new rules, which should speed it up.

Remember, i am not expert.

yes, unfortunately.

I don't know how the old process works but with the new process, you can withdraw and get your money back up to a certain point in the process
