Bonjour

Does anyone knows how long it take to learn Basic french in order to claim 2 additional points for Canadian immigration?
181 points required in TEF exam....

Is there anyone who has passed TEF exam?

I have no idea on the answer to your question but I presume French 101 and 102 at most universities will suffice for basic on the TEF. These are usually 4 month courses at university alone, which means it takes 8 months to do both. But there are also summer classes that cover both (like a first year French intensive class) in 3.5 months but students tend to have classes and lectures everyday for 3.5 months.

Hi
Try French Culture Center they used to offer levels. I did three levels and i mentioned in my full application. I also mentioned my proficiency " beginner level" i attached result cards for three levels along with one final paper.

How many months it took to u to complete three levels?

It is clearly mention on CIC website that if you are claiming points for French/English language then only submit TEF/IELTS result.

How long it takes depends on how much time you have to spend as well as how quickly you pick up languages. If you do an intensive course for a month, you should be able to learn basic French. If you do night classes 2 nights a week, it may take you a whole year.
