how long does it take for request of passport for PR stamping?

Our family already completed all the requirements for PR application under CEC 2 months ago. We would like to know how long does it take to approve it and request of passport for stamping. Our application was forwarded to Los Angeles.

A few months on average, but each case is unique so your mileage will vary.

Thanks for the info. We're just worried because our work permit will expire on January 2013 and my husband is no longer working on the company who gave him that work permit. We don't know if we should find another employer who could provide us with skilled LMO or just wait. It's been 2 months now since we submitted all the requirements and we only have less than 3 months remaining on our work permit. Hopefully Immigration will request soon.

I would recommend preparing for the application not to be finished by January 2013 rather than wait - i.e. work on getting a new work permit. Better to have a backup plan than to be relying on something beyond your control.
