Hey guys,

I am so happy to say that my husband and I are finally almost ready to send out our package for sponsorship and permanent residency.

Just a few questions.

We are applying inland and I just want to know how long the process will be? Is it going to be 9 months for step 1 and another 9 months for step 2? Does that mean it will take 18 months? Are they serious? Has anyone ever received there PR card quicker then what the timeline on the CIC website says?

Also, I have a visited my husband in Greece 7 times over the course of our relationship but I only have my passport that has 3 stamps in it? I cannot find one of my old passports for the life of me. Do you think this will look fishy? I have turned my house upside down looking for it.

I also heard that the Canadian embassy and consulates in Buffalo and Boston are not busy at all and that they accept these applications? Is this true or just BS?

Firstly....applying Outland is usually a lot quicker than Inland and your husband can be in Canada during the process. He may have to fly out of Canada if an interview is requested but even so, Outland is a better option.

There is also the matter of appeal. Inland, there is no appeal right, whereas Outland there is the right of appeal.

I believe right now, that 18 months is a true time line for Inland applicants.

If your husband is from Greece you'll be applying through the Rome office if you choose outland. The max timeline for Rome is 13 months. Many are finished in way less time than that. If your husband is in Canada he can extend his visitor status in Canada and remain with you.

Any thoughts on my questions?
