Hi all,

I have posted on the skilled workers board but have had no replys.

My question is I work for a global offshore construction company which means I live virtually anywhere in the world.
My wife and I have looked in to immigrating to Nova Scotia but I am finding the information on the official website a little confusing.
I would be very grateful if anyone on this site could answer the following question for me-

1. Can I move to Nova Scotia as a perminant resident and still keep my current job.

Any input from anyone would be gratefully recived especially any ex Scots in the Nova Scotia area.

Yes - you can move to Nova Scotia and keep your current job.

However in order to move to Canada - you must become a permanent resident of Canada. To become a permanent resident, you must apply under one of the immigration programs listed below (you'll have to read through them to see which you might qualify for):

A temporary work permit won't work for you since you need an employer and job in Canada to qualify for a work permit.

A visitor visa won't work either since you're not allowed to live here as a tourist - just visit.
