Hello All,

I have applied for PR for Canada in 2016 and I would like to know how difficult it is to find a good job in Canada with valid PR status?

My professional background is as below:

I am currently working as a Technical Support Engineer working for USA based company in India. I am also Graduate with Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from New York University, NY, USA and had previously worked 3 years in NJ, USA in the same technology.

Additionally, I have CCNA and CCNP (Professional certificates from top leading companies in my field) and at this time I would like to know how difficult it is to get a job in the same field (IT/Networking, in which I worked for last 4 years) in Canada with a valid PR status for Indian Citizen with above background?

It would greatly helpful for me to shape my future if someone could please reply with the needful information/ ideas.

Thank you all.

@Harsh,

Could you please share me your CRS Score, also the prospects for the Networking Domain is good, i have been looking through the multiple JD's ,the maximum jobs are in Ontario, also there is good requirement for Security combined with traditional routing,switching.

Thanks!

Based on my personal experience, IT is always in demand in Canada or at least in my province. However, it entirely depends on your skills and work experience.

Since IT in a very broad field, you need to target a specific province/city and specific position you want to work in, then research the job requirements for the position to get a general idea what are the most common technologies are being used. The only good thing about IT and Dev is that the knowledge and procedures are pretty much same around the globe, so once you know how to code, or how to configure a Cisco switch, you can start working anywhere in the world.
