"Document requirements

The applicant should provide an official letter(s) from one or more financial institutions that lists all current bank and investment accounts as well as outstanding debts, such as credit card debts and loans.
o The letter(s) must be printed on the letterhead of the financial institution and must include the applicant’s name, the contact information of the financial institution (address, telephone number and email address), the account numbers, the date each account was opened and the current balance of each account as well as the average balance for the past six months.
Other documents may also be requested, as necessary."

As long as it includes everything above it's fine.

Hi Folks,

I created the following Word template based on the one at the Canada Visa Help Centre (http://canadavisahelpcentre.com/the-awesome-list-of-faqs/is-there-a-fixed-format-for-the-express-entry-proof-of-funds-bank-letter/):

https://www.dropbox.com/s/bxg4g117q4wg8j3/Proof%20of%20funds%20-%20Letter%20template%20%28anonymized%29.docx?dl=0

Could someone please take a look and let me know if it looks correct?
Hopefully it can become a useful resource for others ;)

Thanks!

The average balance for the past 6 months is a single figure.

Isnt it supposed to be monthly average ?

Every bank has their own format.

No, it is a single average of your balance for the past 6 months.

If you already got monthly average then leave it as is, IRCC can figure it out.

Truth be told, the wording is very ambiguous. "The average for the past 6 months" can be interpreted either way.

I would favor showing the average for each of the past 6 months for two reasons:

1) It errs on the side of providing more information rather than less.
2) It can prove to IRCC that you didn't just borrow the money at the last minute to meet the cut-off, since you've had enough funds going back 6 months.

Just to be clear, I didn't come up with the format. I just borrowed it from the Canada Visa Help Centre website:
http://canadavisahelpcentre.com/the-awesome-list-of-faqs/is-there-a-fixed-format-for-the-express-entry-proof-of-funds-bank-letter/

Then again, that's not an official website. That's why I'm asking for second opinions here :)

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Sure, you're free to do what you think it's best.

My main goal though is to let know whoever is reading this thread that a single amount is what is needed, I really don't want to get PM's of people freaking out for not knowing what to include :P
