Hey,

I do have 5 months of NOC B( Project Estimator) level Part time experience in one company and also having 7 months of NOC B(Project Estimator) level Full time work experience in other company?
Does CIC will count as 7 + 2.5 = 9.5 months of full time experience for PR ?
I wasn't a student while doing part time field job.
Thank you

As long as the two jobs were done at different times (sequentially, not simultaneously), then -

1) Count the weeks of full-time employment

2) Count the hours of part-time employment (no more than 30 hours per week), then divide by 30 to get the number of full-time equivalent (FTE) weeks.

When the FT weeks + FTE weeks = 52 weeks, then you have one year of qualifying experience.

You need at least 1560 hours of work experience, which should have been completed over a period of 52 weeks (1 year) or more. So if you meet the minimum hour requirement (1560 hours) before the 52 weeks, you still need to work more time until you have worked for at least 52 weeks.

Having said so, the any hours worked beyond 30 hours each week cannot compensate for weeks in which a lesser amount of time was worked.

For instance a week in which you worked 60 hours is equivalent to a week in which you worked 30 hours, it is not equivalent to 2 weeks.

On the other hand, 2 weeks in which you worked 15 hours each, each counts as 1/2 week.

To illustrate this further:
  • 20 weeks worked 60 hours per week are equivalent to= 20 weeks of FTE
  • 40 weeks worked 15 hours a week are equivalent to= 20 weeks of FTE
  • Your total weeks worked would be= 40 weeks
  • Your total hours worked would be= (20*60)+(40*15)
