How does IRCC calculate midnight time ?

Date and time of receipt of application
The date and time of receipt are important for determining if status is maintained under subsection R183(5). For electronic applications, the department uses Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) around the world to ensure that time is equal for all. Therefore, receipt dates and times do not depend on time zones; all applications must be submitted before midnight UTC on the date the applicant’s status expires. If the application was received after midnight UTC on the date of expiry, the applicant does not maintain their status under subsection R183(5).
So your work permit expires February 11 but you say that account says expired? Neither time - UTC time.Hi, so if my work permit expires on February 11, 2024, does that mean I should apply before 11:59 pm February 11, 2024 or 0.00 am February 11 ?
You must do it ASAP because it is based on UTC. You should be able to continue working. How are you eligible for an extension.When I check status of document on gckey it says expired. The expiry date on my document is February 11, 2024. So if I apply today, will I have maintained status?

Mentioned a few times - it is UTC time. So look at UTC time with your time zone. Nothing to do with 11:59.Thanks for your reply. I just have one last question. Someone gave you a calculator in one of the many threads you started.Hi, sorry for the confusion. I will try to rephrase my question. Has midnight UTC February 11, 2024 already passed or is it yet to come ? Does IRCC calculate midnight of 11th as between 10th and 11th or between 11th and 12th?
