How does course duration relates to PGWP in case of a 2 semester course?

Hi,
I'm interested in doing a "one year" certificate program in a public college in Canada. What happens is that this course starts in january 2021 and ends in mid-august. Will I be getting a PWGP for roughly eight months or a full year for this type of course? Can anyone tell me from experience? Because if I only get 8 months of PGWP it would be worthless in regards of gaining points in the Express Entry.

PGWP would be equal to Course duration written on you Admission Offer Letter from college.
