My wife lives in Pakistan and the postal service there isn't that great. I'm concerned that if the CIC needs to reach out to her concerning her application, it'll take a long time to get to her which will create delays. There's also the possibility the mail might get lost while in transit.

Does CIC use post or email to communicate? If they use post, is there any way to ask them to use email instead?

As long as an email address for the applicant was provided, they will use email to communicate if they need to request additional documentation.

Not necessarily. There's been many occasions where they for some unexplainable reason still choose to send it by regular mail.
