So I am just wondering how everyone from the USA is filing their US taxes while they are in Canada. For the past 3 years we have used H&R Block to do US and it has cost almost 700$ To do a very basic tax return.

Does anyone here have any experience using Turbo Tax to file a tax return from within Canada?

Is it possible to use TurboTax to file Canadian and US taxes together?

Thank you!

Would use an accountant or do it yourself. H&R black is not knowledgeable enough to do tax filing for someone needing to file both Canadian and US taxes. Lots of accountant who specialize in filing US and Canadian taxes.

I have used H&R Block for three years, luckily the H&R Block here has an American Tax specialist. I am just asking if anyone has done it themselves using turbo tax or anything similar

I am in the same situation. If someone has recommendations for an accountant who can do taxes in booth countries, please share here.

Would not recommend using H&R block for filing both Canadian and US taxes. You should hire an accountant who specializes in both US and Canadian taxes.

There is a lot of information about taxes in Canada. One thing you need to know is that Canadians have two rates of income tax. There are no national sales taxes, but there are provincial sales taxes, which vary from province to province.

Canada's federal government levies a national income tax directly on most income of individuals and corporations. The provinces levy a tax on personal and corporate taxable income, but both levels of government share the revenues from these taxes according to an agreement that forms part of the constitution. Provinces have different rates of income tax for individuals, businesses, and corporations. For example, Ontario has a higher rate of corporate income tax than Alberta does.

In Canada there are several types of taxes: sales taxes, gasoline tax, property taxes etc.; however the two main types are direct and indirect taxes.
