how do you check the status of your application???

hi, we submitted my application about a month ago, and they gave me a client id, but everytime i check it on cic website it always says that they cant find my application...
i applied for open work permit and permanent residency under common law.

It can sometimes take a few months before you can see anything on eCas. Outland applicants can usually only see something once their file has been sent to the VO abroad. Inland you probably won't see anything for a while, since it takes them 17 months for stage 1.

Usually you won't be able to see anything on Ecas until you receive AOR from CIC. They send it via email or mail. It will have a UCI & an application # assigned and you can use that to log into Ecas. It sounds like you applied Inland and I am not sure how long it takes for the AOR to be sent for Inland applications. I applied Outland, and it took almost 8 weeks for me to receive AOR.
