How do I search for my application status before aor???

Hi,

Was wondering if there is anyway I can look my the status of my application before I get the AOR?

I tried using
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/status.asp?s=11

But nothing came up in the results.

Was wondering if there is any other way to know if they have received and started processing my application?

you will not be able to check status before receiving AOR, or for most people SA. This makes sense because technically your package isn't even opened yet, so how can it be entered into the system? For a majority of applicants, ECAS (the online system) does not get activated until AFTER receiving sponsorship approval. I know of at least 1 forum member who has waited over a month afer SA and still can't sign in.

Contrary to what the website says, receipt numbers do NOT work when checking status for family class sponsorship, only UCI and file numbers will work. Those are not given out until sponsorship approval has already happened.unfortunately, there's nothing that can be done until CIC notifies the sponsor of their eligibility. If a person already has a UCI because of a previous application with CIC, they will be able to sign in. Even if they can, they may not be able to see what's going on with their current application.

You cant see the status till you get the AOR. But CIC-M has stopped sending AORs now a days. We get SA directly.
Current SA timeline is 56 days. You can start checking from around 50th day from the day of your application submission.
I was able to see my online status one week before I received my SA approval(took 60 days for me). Again it depends on case to case when CIC updates the ecas system.
