Hi - I'm new to this forum and just trying to navigate my way around. Wondering if anyone can help me ...
My family and I moved from the UK to Canada 6 years ago - permanent residents currently applying for citizenship. We originally moved to Alberta and have now settled in Nova Scotia. My brother would really like to move out and join us. He will retire from the post office in the UK in about 4 years time, probably with a payout of around 20,000 UK Pounds and a monthly pension. Does anyone know how best it might be for him to try and come out - I'm not sure he would qualify as skilled worker at age 55, but maybe as a retiree if there is such a program, or as part of a provincial program - doesn't have to be Nova Scotia I guess? Any advice on where to start would be much appreciated - in the meantime, I'll keep trawling!
Thank you.

Canada has no retiree immigration streams at either the federal or provincial level. So that's definitely out.

Nova Scotia does have a family immigration stream. But he'll also need a job offer in Canada to qualify. More information here:

If you've read through the federal and other provincial streams you've probably already seen that he would need to qualify as a skilled worker to immigrate and/or have a job offer in Canada.

Right now I can't think of any immigration stream that would be a real fit for your brother given the information you've provided. Maybe someone else will be able to think of something.

Good luck.
