Hi, I am from India, currently living in Saskatchewan, travelled on a visit visa which expires in 2021, my husband is a PR and has sponsored me through 'Inland' spouse sponsorship and will approximately take 1.5 more years to obtain a PR card, i have got a work permit. My question is, can I travel to India for a couple of months meanwhile ? And which Visa do i need to get for that?

Thanks. :)

If you applied inland, you are supposed to live in Canada while the application is being processed. I would keep your visit to a few weeks (2-3 weeks) rather than months.

If your visa is a multiple-entry visa, then you can use that same visa to return. It is up to the CBSA officer if you are allowed back into Canada - however you shouldn't have any issues.

If your visa was a single entry visa, you'll need to apply for a new TRV.

If for any reason you aren't able to re-enter Canada, your application will be canceled and you'll have to apply again from scratch using the outland route.

It's rare if you have a valid visa - but it can happen.
