In order to seek asylum in Canada directly, you would need to obtain a TRV (tourist visa) to Canada, fly to Canada, and then claim asylum once you arrive in Canada. To get a TRV approved, you would need to show strong ties to your country (e.g. employment, property ownership). You would also want to show you have sufficient funds to pay for your trip to Canada and ideally show that you have previously traveled to countries requiring visas such as the US and UK.
