how can i register for online status

I have sent my full documents to new delhi VO on 5 January 2011 by courier.
How and When they inform me about next step?

Can I register my self with file no. issued by FSW Deptt. for checking online status?

@ Inderjit yes you can register for login to check your status with your first file number . it will take 3-4 weeks to get new file number from CHC ND by email or official letter and then you can use 2nd file number for login.Here is the link to check your status : https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/?app=ecas&lang=en

I think you will be able to see your current status by clicking on "Check Application Status" on CIC website and by filing in details of file no. issued by FSW dept.
