We received my wife's passport and confirmation of permanent residence today. Total time was 6 months to the day from Hong Kong office. There is hope that you will not need to wait 19 months!

Best of luck to all of you who are waiting. I know how stressful this is so I hope that the rest of you take some ease in hearing about the speed of our application.

Again, best of luck.

Yes, congratulations!!!

My wife is a member of a QQ group (Marty11 introduced me to it). Many of the people in that group have said that processing times are actually much shorter than the 19 months posted on the CIC website (even for mainland Chinese).

6 months is very good.

Is your spouse (the PR applicant) from the mainland, Taiwan, or Hong Kong?

Can you provide some details of your application, such as: are both of you Chinese, any children together, length of relationship, etc???

Again, a big congratulations to you!!!

She is from Taiwan. I am a white Canadian, no kids, been together since 2007 and were married in Canada in 2009. We provided about 40 photos to them and needed to provide extra info of my plans to re-establish in Canada.

I thought from the very beginning that our application was going to go real fast and it did. Everything is what it seems with us and I think that combined with a positive outlook really helped.

Congrats, thanks for sharing your success story.
