Hi there,

I'm Abbey. I'm 28 years old, Chinese from Manila, Philippines and I've been working in Singapore for 8 years in advertising. I'm holding a bachelor's degree in marketing and I'm planning to take up Diploma in Business.

Will I have problem in acquiring a student visa if I write a really good statement of purpose?
Please help.....

You would be far better off applying to study at the post graduate diploma level. However it is possible to be accepted if you go for a diploma - it's just harder. Do you have permanent residency in Singapore or are you just there on a work visa temporarily?

They tend to think that you need to move forward on your studies and going from Bachelor to Diploma would be like going backwards. But, in your case you are willing to follow complimentary studies, then if presented correctly, your case may be a strong one. I think it would just be a matter of convincing the visa officer why you want to pursue the Diploma.
Hope this helps.
