Ok, this is really nothing more than a rhetorical question, but...
When I completed my Inland application forms, I obviously selected the option to withdraw and refund my fees (less the $75 that CIC retains) if our application for CL sponsorship is denied. Since Inland applicants have no rights of appeal, it was a no-brainer. I can't even imagine this being nothing more than a moot point for us, but...
I'm wondering how much time the VO [visa officer] would put into reviewing the application, before s/he determines the denial? I have to think that it's not much time at all, considering $75 probably gets eaten up pretty quickly, in regards to VO compensation. I'm sure they know what they're doing and what to look for...unlike some (hopefully the minority) of the Call Centre folks [feeling lucky, call 1-888-242-xxxx?!?!?!]. Nothing gives you that confident feeling like hearing multiple answers to the same question(s), but...they do their best to help.
Maybe, the application gets a quick `look through' and if it passes whatever basic criteria is in place (mostly for evidence of Relationship I suppose), it's then forwarded for the proper dissection down stream. It would certainly seem that the evidence of relationship would be the very first step of review, because without that;even with an approved sponsor, you're probably not going to get approved. Maybe that's why those with a strong application are seeing AIP and DM within a few days of each other. If the relationship is `iffy', maybe the application gets sent to the lab, for microscopic inspection, before truly being denied.
I know that the AIP is based on the approval of the sponsor, but maybe it's not solely on the approval of the sponsor?? Oh, who really knows for sure.
I'd be curious to know how much time our applications are actually being reviewed, in terms of total man hours. I'd bet it is < 4 in total.
Good luck to all!
