Hi guys...

Just wanna ask here if there is same case like mine regarding tourist visa in HK.
Year 2008. I went to hk as tourist then I got denied at the port of entry .
I don't know the reason of my refusal they didnt tell me and it was my first travel.
But I was thinking it was bcoz my return ticket is from thailand to manila.
My flight details was mnl- hk-bkk-mnl.
On my second trip to hk.. this time they let me in. Year 2009. But they ask me a lot of questions first

My question is
Will it affect on my spousal application.? I did said in my application that i got refused

Yes it will affect your application, but it is a very minor red flag. The reason is because on IMM 5669, there is a list of "red flag" questions they ask you on the right side of the first page, one of those questions asks if you've ever been denied a visitor visa to Canada OR ANY OTHER COUNTRY, you will have to answer YES.

It's not a terribly big deal, just make sure the rest of your relationship background is good

Hello... that's what I am thinking as well...
1 point for red flag. Huhu :'(

Thanks for the reply mikeymike

Thanks for that... I really hope there would be no problem aside from that.

Yea, on that question I said yes, because my wife attempted to get a visitor visa to come to Canada, and she was denied on the typical they thought she wouldn`t return home/couldn`t support herself here for the 2 week visit. Maybe she didn`t even need to say yes, but we put it anyway, with an explanation. Doubt it will have any impact on the application~

Thanks for that... I can only hope for the positive reply from VO manila..

Don't worry I was denied a visitor visa and while flying from USA to Gabon (my home country in africa) my fight made a stop to toronto but I didn't have a transit visa for canada. Then the immigration visa ask me to fill an application for permanent resident to follow the procedure which he denied. After he gave me an order to leave canada within 24 hours. Which I did when my flight was ready. 2 years later I sent my sponsorship application ( my wife sponsor me) and a got approved. Now I sent my passport for visa. Just make sure to explain in the form IMM 5669 why you got denied and you should be fine
