I just put my husband's Canada address in the PR application forms because I live here as visitor.

But I provide email as well so CIC contacts me by email.

Do you have valid visitor status meaning you've continued to renew your visitor status every 6-12 months as they expire, or after your previous visitor status expired did you just stay in Canada so would now be out-of-status?

Then you definitely can put your Canada address in the form.

Next time you should ask for one year or one and half year extension while waiting for PR.

Good luck

According to my experience of extending visa, I can't see why you can't. I have extended twice, the first time, I asked for 1 year then it was approved. The second time, I asked for one and half years then it was approved too.

But I did submit an explanation letter to say why I need to stay so long and what I will do. I think They want to know your plan and make sure you won't work illegally.

Actually address doesn't matter that much because once you provide email, all communication from CIC will go to your email.

Good luck

If you are applying Outland (which you should if you are a US Citizen, it is quite likely 6 months will be long enough. You can ask for more, just don't apply inland.

Like I told you in the private message you sent me, if you have legal status in Canada (in your case, visitor), you can definitely write down your Canadian address on the forms.
