Help !!

Hi All,

I am new to this forum and would like to understand the step by step process for migrating to Canada. Appreciate if someone could provide or guide me towards the same. I need help in understanding the process after the case is approved and request is send for Medicals, how much long does the medicals result take and how soon do we get our PP stamped with the VISA. Once Passport is stamped with VISA, how soon do we have to land in Canada? When Landing in canada, how do i provide them with an canadian address for my PR card to be mailed?

Currently, as of now i had applied in the year Feb 2010 and i just got my approval and request for medicals for me and my family. Appreciate if someone could really help me as to how i go about proceeding further??

You have to land within 1 year of your medicals.

Thanks for the prompt response. Situation in my case here is that we are expecting our second child around end of May 2012 and hence was not sure if we should wait for the baby to be born so that we all can do our medicals together OR should me, my wife and my 5 year old son do our medicals now and later do the medicals for our new born child??

Reason being -- 1 year from medicals for landing?

Was not sure how it will work and hence wanted to know other ideas or inputs.

Please help me to decide if i should go for my medicals right now or should i ask for extension and get my medicals done after the baby is born since my wife is pregnant. Kindly help me as I don't want to miss this opportunity and also would like to know the consequences if i ask for extension.

Question:

1) Should i get the medicals done for myself, my wife and my 5 year old son now and have the DMP submit the report to CIC(Buffalo) OR
Should i ask CIC extension of time for medicals since there will be a change in family composition (around mid-may 2012) and then do the medicals for all 4 of us after we get the new born baby's passport, SSN, Birth Certificate etc.?? (which might delay and would be around September I suppose since it takes 30-45 days for passport and SSN.

2) What would be the complications if we get our medicals done now and do the medicals again for our new born baby later ?
Do we also need to do a re-medical again along with the baby at later stage say around september?

3) How long does it take after the medicals for CIC to ask for the passport to stamp the VISA?

Re: Urgent Help !!

Time from medicals to get visa varies from one visa office to another. Which one is your visa office? The latest trend is that many applicants are getting passport request in 4-8 weeks from the date of their medicals.
