Just want to thanks all of you for your great contributions on this forum which i am new to. I wonder if some one with more experience could please help me to explain what you know best regarding my situation.

I applied for PR since May 2009 and London office started processing my application April 2010. We received request for medical in june 2010 and had our medical done July 2010. My husband had two request for further medical test September and november 2010 respectively.

Late january 2011 we received request for payment of permanent resident Landing fee and around April 2011 my husband was asked to update his personal history and was given 20days to send it back which he did immediately.

Recently i contacted my consultant to inquire if there is any update from CIC and in reply he told me that visa office is carrying out a background check. Could some one tell how long this will last because i am worried my medical has expired and i dont even know what the next stage will be and when am lost.
Please HELP......My NOC is 3152

Hi Maxwell,

In fact there is no stipulated time limit for the completion of background check and no one could exactly say how long it would take. It may complete within two or three months (?) or more depending on the applicant's case. As you'r husbands medical was done in Nov or Dec he may have time where as you need an extension or re-medical which will be decided by the VO. Because you have a consultant you need to ask him/her to expedite. Usually the reps are lethargic (???) to do anything except passing the information.
