Hi,

I am currently confused! I sent my application since first week of June to the Mississauga office to get the sponsorship approval letter! it has been 3 months now! Is it normal? How do you guys get the letter? By mail or email?

How did you send your application? Did you make sure it was received by Mississauga office ? As far as I know you get the letter in mail. If you sent it out in first week of June, you should be getting something soon. Right now their processing time is 52 days in Mississauga so its a close call.

I have read that some people have got it also by email, so check your junk folder.

Thanks for the quich reply! well I sent it thru my lawyer. He claims to have gotten no news but right now he's out on a trip for 2 weeks. How can I make sure if they have received the application? Which mail should I be getting it in? Mine in Canada? or my wife's one in Africa? Is there any way to know if the application has been received in Mississauga office?

Thanks for the quick reply too! Are you sure that some people get them in email? I am always checking my junk folder and seem to have gotten nothing!! I guess 3 months is alot!

Did you make your lawyer your representative? If thats the case, then he would get your sponsorship approval letter. So wait till he comes back from the trip, he must have got it by now or probably get it next week. Also there is no way you can track it if you personally didn't send it by Canada post. I guess your lawyer must have the tracking number for it. Either way talk to your lawyer when he comes back.

do you have your receipt # you can try calling the call center or checking ecas to see if your file has been transferred

you would get an email if you included an email on your application

Yeah I have read about people getting them in their email, and like Kedeisha said if you included it in your application they can use that for communication to you also.

You might get an email telling you there decision, or you might get an email saying they made a decision and they've sent the letter, or you might not get a email at all.

scroll down and click on the blue link that says application past processing time, you can send them an email to get info.

"if you applied before the date on the processing times page, you can inform CPC-Mississauga by choosing one of the links below. Please include the Sponsor’s name, date of birth, and UCI Number or Application Number if known in all correspondence. You will not receive a reply to questions or enquiries about other topics. "

Also if you sent it first week of June then its only been just over 2 months.
Just wait until your lawyer returns and ask them, they will be able to help you. Or else wait for letter (or email) from CIC Mississauga.
