cap: yeah, 1000 for RN's. does this mean that we cannot apply now or we can apply and wait for the next batch?

If one of you can claim a job description matching LPN (licensed practical nurse) you can apply under there because their quota isn't full. You can find the description here: http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/noc/english/noc/2006/Profile.aspx?val=3&val1=3233

If you can not apply under LPN, then you can start preparing your application but you must wait to apply until July 1st when the caps are set to zero again. If you send it in sooner, they will send it back with a sorry, cap is full.

Hi Mik,
Although the cap reached and you must wait till the next batch announcement but you have a lot to do.Prepare all your documents including your certificates and an updated CV.Till that time you will reach to your second year as experience which will be acceptable for most of health services. Apply for registration body in the area that you want to stay but before that review the job market in different provinces .One of the good sites will be canadianurse.com .Right now Ontario is in the top.The registration is a very long process and you need to do it before coming to Canada. Manitoba job offers will be considered faster than other areas .
Good Luck,
