I have just realized I put down the date we moved in together (December 28, 2011), instead of the the date we legally entered into common law (2012). Our application was received on November 20, 2014. I have read some threads when someone made a mistake like this, and was still approved for PR. I wonder if this will be a huge problem, even with the correct date we were still living together for almost three years at the time the application was received. I'm sure this has happened a lot, maybe the officers understand the mistake and as long as there is enough evidence for at least a one year of cohabitation they overlook it. Or should i contact them to have it corrected?

It's always a good practice to have correct information in CIC forms, even as a precaution against being accused of misrepresentation. If you haven't receive the sponsor approval yet you should wait until your application been moved to the local VO, then you can contact that VO and update your information/forms.
