Just to let you know, I just spoke to Canada Immigration and I will be allowed to work after my current status expires as I'll have the implied status with my OWP application.

I don't have to extend my stay as a visitor, everything is taken care of with the application to extend my stay as a worker.

You called the call center, who once again, gave out incorrect information, as usual.

We already told you that you have implied status to stay in Canada unless your application is returned. If it is, you will be out of status.

You cannot continue to work once your work permit expires. Do people do it? Yes. Is it allowed? No.

Why would they give me false information?
They explicitly told me that I don't have to extend my stay as a visitor and that it's taken care of with my OWP application.

This is confusing and who should I trust?

The call center gives out wrong information literally all the time. Agents are just that - they are paid to answer the phone. They are not officers and have no influence on your application.

This is probably one of the most argued and debated topics as the wording is unclear and confuses people. You can search this forum and others and you will see many past threads talking about this.

Very frustrating :(

I don't care if I can't work, but all I need to know is, if I really have to send that application for extension as a visitor on top of my other applications?
My 30 day mark is just a few days away and I'd have to do it very soon.

It's a personal decision. You don't have to send it 30 days in advance, you can still send it past that period.

I can't tell you if your OWP app is going to get returned. All I can tell you is that if it does, you will be out of status once your IEC expires. It's really up to you whether you want to take the risk or not.

You don't have to extend as it's not mandatory. You also don't need to extend 30 days ahead, but by and including the last day of your status.

I have been in the same situation as you and was told and also read that the Working Holiday Visa is not extendable, including under implied status.
I really don't think they are clear enough when it comes to this because I've heard so many different things from different people.
It is not worth it to continue working in the hopes the the agent is right (they're frequently wrong). It's generally agreed that you cannot continue working. I would definitely not risk jeopardising my application.
