Hi everyone,
I'm having trouble understanding how to count my work hours to apply for the CEC.
1. Do paid public holidays count? My paycheques reflect that I was paid for the same amount of work hours (they also show the work hours) as a regular work day.
2. My start date for that position was on a Tuesday, so while all the other weeks I qualified for full time work (30 hours/week), that first week I only worked 28 hours (my work hours were 7 hours/day). Would this affect how this first week is calculated, and will all 28 hours be considered? I spoke on the phone with someone from IRCC and they essentially said it wouldn't because my position was full-time and I was technically working part-time hours (less than 30 hours/week). It seems idiotic to me that this first week wouldn't count because it was still hours I worked, so I'm still unsure how to count these hours.
3. I worked as a summer research student (was paid a regular wage) while I was on study permit but NOT a full-time student (summer break) for 4 months, and the IRCC rep I spoke to said it should technically count. However, my job title states that I was a summer student (not part of any co-op/internship program). I did a lot of biological experiments in the lab and reported to a professor at my university. Would I be able to categorise this as NOC 4012?
Thanks for any help.
