Hi,

Im new to the forms and have a few questions.
If someone can show me previous threads for these answers i would appreciate it, otherwise please answer any of the questions you can help with.

1) Is there a guide someone put together that i can follow while filling out the forms?

2) A dual American/Israeli citizen living in Israel since a child, is an Israeli background check sufficient, or would they need one from the US too? If yes, how can they get it while in Israel?

3) Are fingerprints mandatory/always necessary, or do they only ask for it based on certain criteria? If its necessary, is it from both country or one enough?

4) Once i fill out all the documents and send it in (Outland application) I understand I (the sponsor) can fly with my Spouse to Canada while waiting for approval. 1) How often do they request people for the interview? 2) Is it just the applicant or also the sponsor that they call in for an interview? 3) If they request an interview, will they accommodate an appointment if we are out of the country? 4) Once all docs are approved do i need to fly back to Israel to receive all the docs or will they send it to me in Canada? And if they send it to Canada is it necessary to leave the country for a few days and return with the documents?

5) Applying from Israel what documents will need to be translated? And do they need to be notarized? If yes can any Israeli notary, notarize the translation?

6) We got married a few months ago and my wife has not changed her last name yet (She wants too). Is it ok if we fill out all the documents with her maiden name, medical exam, background check, and just provide a copy of the change of name document?

Thanks for all your help.

CIC website has a guide that I STRONGLY recommend following when filling out forms. It is listed right about the forms. And is called a guide.

I don't know the answers to all of the rest of your questions but there is a search button on the top right that you can enter key words into to try and search for similar questions to yours.

Also, we didn't change the name legally because then a new passport would have been required and then you would have to send that as well and I have seen some people have problems when passport was lost or about to expire. So we figured to save the headache we would change names after permanent residency was approved

I read that guide but wanted to know if someone has a link to a forum user guide that was created. I read that someone made it and should just ask around for a link.

I do use the search, but not everything i look for can i find, and not everything i find has the exact question/answer.

Thanks, that is very useful. I'm glad i asked.

Thanks for your help.

Hi!

If you are applying from Israel, use this guide:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3911e.pdf

You will need a background check from both more than likely. Check with the American Embassy, they should be able to tell you where to go to get a background chack and police clearance.

If you are able to travel to Canada, then of course you can! Many people stay in Canada while their outland application is being reviewed.

They request and interview if you have not proven to the visa officer that your relationship is 100% genuine. I suggest you send any pictures you have together, proof of trips together, cards from your wedding, details about your wedding and engagement, pictures with eachother's families, bills together, houses together, etc.

I suggest you be accomodating to their interview date as getting another date may take a while. You will need to fly back to Israel to get your visa in your passport.

I don't know the specific documents that you need from Israel for your application, but for sure your background check should be in both English.

Your wife's maiden name is fine on all of the documents.

Sorry I couldn't answer all of your questions but I hope this helps you start the application!

We already went to get the Israeli clearance and they sent it directly to the Tel Aviv consulate, i hope its in English.

My husband's police clearance was in both Turkish and English. I imagine it would be the same for Israel.
