Hi All,

I am sponsoring my wife under the family sponsorship class. In her generic application form IMM0008 and according to the guide it suggests adding our dependants to the application even if they don't accompany us to Canada. In our situation, they will accompany us to Canada but we are applying for their proof of Canadian Citizenship Certificates which they qualify for through me. In this instance, do we include the dependants in here and does that mean we are including them more generally in the application including all the necessary civil documents, etc.?

Many Thanks in Advance!

No, if you read the instructions, it says only included dependents who are NOT Permanent Residents or Canadian citizens. So the only place the dependents appear is on the IMM 5406

What is the Generic form used for - and if we are filling our application in for Outland - as I will be back the UK once we are married. do we need to fill it in.... Also my forum friend mentioned that he signed and dated photos etc - but how do the offices actually know the pictures are of the sponsor and his spouse???

The generic form is part of the application package you need to fill up ... as far as I know everyone fills it up whether its inland or outland

Will have to agree with PMM ... if kids/dependents are citizens no need to put them in the generic form.

Here is the country specific quide for you if you are applying through London http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3901e.pdf
There is a list of all the forms and papers you need to fill in and submit. There Generic form is on the list and everyone applying for immigration need to fill it out as far as I know.
As for them knowing if the pictures are actually of the sponsor and applicant, you would need to submit copies of documents with photos on them (passports, identity cards, police certificates etc.), send passport size photos of you along with the application, and than pictures of you and your spouse together, so I guess its pretty easy for them to figure out if it is actually you two on the pictures ;) I would think after going through so many application they will have a trained eye for such things ;D

:D

Hi there. whilst filling in the application do they ask you to send photographs etc - I don't know if I have seen that anywhere.
