Hi All,
My brother applied for his study visa back in Nov 2015 and today he received a medical request, as well as request for additional information. Part of this additional information is "confirmation as to both your mother and fathers employment as well as your fathers bank statement. We also require an explanation as to why your parents are not financially supporting your studies." I was wondering if anyone could help with his specific situation to maximize the chances of having the visa approved. Here is some background information regarding his application:
- He has a Bachelors degree in accounting and applied for a post grad diploma program in accounting at Camosun College. He was accepted and submitted the visa application.
- To show proof of funds, I wrote a letter saying that I would cover his tuition and he would also live with me to reduce living expenses. I am his sister, but I'm younger than him by 3 years. I included bank statements showing CAD25k for his tuition.
- At the time of submitting his application our mum was still working, but her contract ended in Dec 2015, so now she is unemployed. Our dad has not been working for the past five years or so, and he doesn't keep a bank account, so at the time of submission, we only showed my mum's bank statements.
- My parents are not financially supporting his studies because they are unable to (no savings left plus lack of sufficient income), and I'm worried that it may be a red flag if he writes this in his letter of explanation.
Does anyone have experience with this situation and can give me advice on what to write in the letter?
Thanks in advance!
