I have a few questions about the CEC program. I hope that someone here can help

Can I have 2 separate jobs at one time and work for 50 to 60 hours a week to complete the required number of hours (1560) and complete it in 7 or 8 months or do I have to work for 12 months?

My issue is that I got my work permit 3 months before I got a job (the recruitment process was long) and CIC is saying that when it expires, unles I can get my employer to do the LMIA for me (which doesnt look like its going to happen), I might have to leave the country and go back home as I dont qualify for a Bridging Work Permit or Open Work Permit.

(I have graduated from 1 year of school and was given 1 year work permit in Canada so far)

What can I do?

You need 12 calendar months and 30 hours per week is the minimum for full-time categorization.

You cannot make 1560 hours in less than 12 months and deem it to be "12 months of work".

Unfortunately CIC is correct with the info they have provided you. You can always study again though and work 20 hours per week which can not be counted towards a CEC application.

Thanks Amisnic!

Are you really saying the 20 hours does NOT count towards your work experience?

So, it doesnt have to be one year continous employment? Can it be for 8 months then a break (for a couple of months for school for eg ) and then 4 months to complete the required time?

No, working whilst studying hours cannot be counted.

Yes, you can work, take a break and work again, however, the 12 months of work experience has to be accumulated in the preceding 3 years.

As well as the work has to be in O, A or B NOC categories.
