Hi, i am a skilled worker(supervisor) and resigned from my employer. My wife has an OPEN WORK PERMIT valid 'til Sept.2012. Now my employer wants me to sign a RELEASE of CLAIMS letter. I didn't sign it and he hold my LAST pay check for a day. Then i told him i am not ready to sign the letter, so he gave me my pay check then told me that he will call the Service Canada to cancel my work permit so my question is... is my wife's OPEN WORK PERMIT cancelled too because her OPEN WORK PERMIT is depending on my work permit(that my employer will be cancelling)... And can my employer cancel my work permit even i resigned and finished my two weeks notice....i know there is a topic like this here but it was last 2009 so i'm just wondering maybe the rule is change already.
I really need your help here because i don't want to go home.
