Hi,
Such a silly and shameful act. My friends wife caught with shoplifting from walmart few days ago. They cited police & fined her 700$. He and his wife are permanent resident. Next year they gonna apply for citizenship. Kindly tell will this affect his citizenship and will this be on her records/credit history. If so then for how long?

Thanks in advance!

They should consider consulting a legal expert. May be they can help to get a her pardon as for first time offender and stop it from affecting her future. Just a thought, does not harm in checking with legal guys.

Thanks. Leon if you could explain please. They neither arrest her nor give her any court paper. It was just two papers from walmart. One is ban for 1 year from walmart and other one is for penalty. Does it affect citizenship in any ways?

Highly appreciated.

I love how it always has to be a "friend," and people show more concern for their friend than themselves lol :P

Yeah, it could affect her citizenship. She could be barred from becoming a citizen for a period of time. Your "friend" needs to consult qualified legal counsel.
