Dear seniors

I have recently extended my 3 year old daughter's visitor visa from inside canada. I have received a visitor record with all details but with a note

" Not authorized for Re-entry"

i know i have to apply for TRV but when i try to apply it online the system takes me to visitor visa extension process everytime which i have already done. When i read the details about TRV it says that only people with valid work and study permits can apply for TRV. I am confused please help me here.

Thanks in Advance

If i am not mistaken, you can extend your TRV inside Canada, but if you need to get a whole new TRV, you have to do that outside of Canada.

thanks for the reply. I have already extended her visitor visa for which i received a visitor record on IMM1442 but nothing on her passport. Her original trv is expiring in march, 13. If after that she goes out she needs a trv to get back. I heard they dont give multiple entry visas from inside canada especially to those on visitor visa

Well, I am kind of going to be in the same situation. I have a multiple visa to Canada which is valid till dec 2014. And after its expiration i will have to move from Canada to get a new multi visa for me. I don't think there is another option for that, otherwise it s not possible to re-enter.
Inside Canada you cannot do a new visa, you can only have an extension of your stay (in your case - yours daughter).
Does she need to get out of the country in the near future? If not, maybe you can just extending her stay every time?

she has got an extension till 2017. although there is no travelling in the near future but in case of an emergency back home she has to travel with me. So, it seems that she has to apply for her multiple visa from back home. I am only worried because it is very hard to get a TRV from my place.

What is your status in Canada? If you are on a work or study permit, there should not be a problem to get a new visa for your daughter since she is your dependent.
Otherwise, maybe you and your daughter should apply for PR? Of course everything depends on your situation.

Hi Friends,

I just got a Visitor Record valid till March 2017 for my daughter. Is that means she can stay here with me till that date? And there is no more requirement to make re-entry in every six months. My daughter's PR is "in process" stage and expecting to get the PR within six months may be.

Just curious to know what exactly Visitor Record is and whether my daughter can stay for more than six months without making any re-entry.

Thanks
Ranjan

She can stay until March 2017 without having to re-enter.
