Help Required To Cancel Application - Bad Customer Experience

Hi,
I have applied for Canada Visitor Visa(TRV) through online on May 29th 2013. I need to cancel this application due to personal reason. I sent a mail to NY Consulate and LA consulate about this one on June 3rd. I got an automated reply but no response till now for cancellation confirmation. Still my application is in submission confirmation status. i dono whether they will cancel the application and refund $150 fees or they will continue to process it. Can you please throw some light on this. I didnt expect this much careless from a government organization.

Even though they cancel your application, but I do not think they will refund you the money....
anyone has any experience like this??

I have also applied for Visitor Visa on July 11th and paid the fee online. Now I would like to cancel my application.
Would you please let me know whether you received the refund. May I also know the email address or any other communication channel that you have used.
