Help - proof of relative relationship

Hi, I have been preparing documents for the final submission after receiving ITA. One issue quickly emerged that I may be unable to provide any required document as the proof of relative relationship. My uncle doesn’t have any birth certificates or legally binding documents anymore as he moved to Canada 20+ years ago ...

What should I do? Is it ok that I simply explain this in a letter? I’m not claiming any points for indicating having an uncle anyway, and the document is non-mandatory if I’m not mistaken.

As you aren't claiming points from him, you don't need to prove the relationship.

Thanks for the answer! I thought the same but the website seems to indicate that as long as a relative is mentioned in EE profile, proof of having that relative relationship needs to be provided. It is not 'mandatory' though.

Do you think I should explain it in a letter when I submit all my documents or no bother at all?
