Hi there.
So, I have had my PR application returned to me as I failed to supply some details surrounding my eldest Son.
Unfortunatley, he has decided to stay in his home country & as he is 19, that was absolutely his decision.
Any way, communication between myself & him is strained & sparse. PR wants his passport details, plus signature. But I have absolutely zero way of getting this out of him as he just blatantly ignores my requests for these credentials.
Am I screwed, or is there a way around this?

Thank you!

You have to provide the details asked from you.

Could you call your husband have him to sort it out?

You have two big challenges which really will go MUCH better if you can secure the cooperation of your son. Providing the documents / signature needed is the smallest of the issues.

The 'carrot' that I'd encourage you to discuss with him is this: while he is an adult and you cannot (of course) force him to cooperate, nor to move to Canada, if he is included in your application as 'unaccompanying' (not intending to move to Canada), he could be sponsored in future (as long as under 21 and not married). So the basic point is: okay, you don't want to come, but wouldn't you want the option? Just in case. To do this, he would need to undergo the medical exam and biometrics.

Failing that: it CAN be possible, but can cause delays, to include information that you and the child understand the consequences (which is that he could never be sponsored in future). The best form in this case would be a letter or affidavit from the son that he understands what this means, does not intend to immigrate to Canada, does not consent to take the medicals, etc.

IRCC will make it difficult for you to clear this bar. So if the young man won't speak to you, try to have someone else do so (and ideally cooperate and agree to be included as unaccompanying, etc).

Good luck.
