I came to Canada as an international student last year. I was enolled in a utp stage II. And I started working part time and its been 6 months since then. On completion of UTP stage II I will progress directly to Year 2. Now the issue someone told me that in order to work part time, one of the conditions is that your program should lead to a degree and I should be awarded a certificate or degree on completion of that. But my university does not issue any credential after completion of utp stage II. Infact this program allows me to enter in year 2 of bachelors degree which obviously comes with the credential. Should I leave everything and go back home? Since I am paying 30k+ per annum and this mistake will surely result in rejection of PGWP.

Does your study permit state that you can work part-time?

In a past post, you said you could not work.

“Hello. I am currently studying in UTP stage II after that will transfer to second year of university directly. My UTP ends at April 2022 and I have been issued the TRV and SP till April 2023. Now the issue is I am not eligible to work 20 hr part time nor full time during my UTP which I find quite unfair. I want to know should I extend my permit as soon as finish my UTP stage II studies or I should wait till it expires, which will take around another year”

Yes. It says "May accept unemployment under conditions R186 (F), (V) and (W). Yes, it was that time I was told this and I consulted with some people and they said we can work on utp stage so I let it go. But now I doubt what I was suggested was right or not.

If you meet the conditions under R186 then yes you can work.
