Hi, I have a few questions relating to the skilled worker visa, and if anybody could help with any of them I would greatly appreciate it.
Though I'm Canadian, my Girlfriend is Taiwanese (Though she hasn't lived there since she was 6). She came to Canada almost 6 years ago and has completed her studies at UBC and now works as a research Coordinator.

She originally applied residency under the skilled worker program but we received a letter denying her application due to "insufficient information about her work responsibilities" We thought that this was ridiculous but were told to appeal we would have to go through the courts, and it would be cheaper and quicker to just re-apply. unfortunately this takes time and her post graduate visa will run out in about 6 months. The university HR said that there is no way she can get an LMO and thus a work visa through them while she waits for residency.

So my questions are these:

What are the options for staying in Canada while she awaits the residency application?
can she get some sort of extension to her visa while the residency application is being processed?
Her application is contingent on a job, which she currently has, but obviously if she is forced to leave for an extended time she will not be able to keep. will that kill of her application?
As I said I'm Canadian, We have lived together for 2 years, though only have limited proof (didn't keep bills etc, I'm not on the lease) would we be better off trying to prove our common laws status as a quicker way to get residency?
If we did go for common law would I be able to sponsor her to stay here until the residency has come through?

Any advice anybody could provide would mean a lot and be a great help through these stressing times.
