I'm currently on a work permit in Canada and I needed to get a new TRV. The problem was, I sent the form IMM 5708 instead of IMM 5257. My online application was received last March 30. Can I just send the form as an additional document? Because in my profile there is no "withdraw application" option. I tried sending an email to CPCO but it's unlikely that they'd reply anytime soon.

How do I cancel my current application so that I can send the correct forms?

Seniors please advise.

Thank you so much!!

Hi

What you need to do is call CIC and wait for an hour to finally reach them but once you tell them the matter they will help you out and will give you a refund that will take 16 weeks but in the meantime you can apply again with the correct form.

Thanks

I tried sending CPCO an email and was surprised that somebody replied. She confirmed that I indeed do not have an ongoing TRV application and may have a different application in progress with them. Okay thanks so much! I might need to charge my phone then, hotline-ing CIC takes forever but necessary.. it was because of my mistake in the first place. :-[

Don't worry. A lot of people including me made the same mistake. I reapplied again with the correct form this time hoping that it gets approved and also the processing time is 7 days now. I reapplied on the 1st of May so hoping that I get an update soon.

Cheers
