I have just entered the pool for the express entry. My score is 369, but we're still waiting for my wife's IELTS exam and her Masters degree certificate to be assessed. I think we can reach 399 after those steps. Now I know that a 399 score will get me nowhere. So, I was thinking about a province nomination. Unfortunately, most provinces either have a condition of having a job offer to be nominated, or require certain fields of expertise in order to nominate a candidate. Both cases do not apply for me. The only exception is Ontario, where they can nominate someone of they scored 400 or above, which means I am one point short.

I got this score as I am 37 years old, have a bachelors degree, scored 8.5, 8, 7.5, 7 on my IELTS. I don't what else to do to increase my chances. Any ideas?

I think your score will be higher if your wife is the main applicant as her educational level is higher than yours. If she is younger, her age will give more points as compared to yours.

Getting a Canadian degree and Canadian work experience will also give you more points.

You have shared your IELTS score. How much did you get in listening?

Getting a job offer and a PNP is difficult but not impossible. It's harder for outland applicants.

Thank you for the tips. Unfortunately, my wife has almost no work experience and she is one year older than me. That's why I thought of becoming the main applicant. On the other hand, like you said, she has a higher degree, and she can also take a French language exam.

How can I have Canadian work experience?

My IELTS listening score is 8.5

Have job in Canada before applying for EE ;p for example IEC , or your employer have LMIA and he can hire you before EE.

OP's age is 37 and his wife is a year older. Too old for an IEC - even if they are from a qualifying country.
