Hi, I have a few questions about obtaining my work permit after LMIA gets approved what the steps after that would be.
Thank you in advance. Came to Canada on a tourist visa on a vacation and later on made some friends and found a company that wanted to hire me.

My questions are the following;

-I've been in Canada roughly 3.5 months on a tourist visa does that I have to be gone from the country for
3.5 before coming back once my LMIA gets approved?

- I am in the Edmonton area ( Alberta ) so could I just go to the international airport and change my visa from a tourist
visa to a work visa?

- What kind of documents would be required if I wanted to apply at the border ( I am from a visa exempt country; Finland )

- Do I need to get any special work insurance?

- If I'm correct I would have to see a panel physician to get my medical records can I do that here in Canada or would I
have to go back to my home country and do it there?

- Do I need to get a Police background check done?

I'll help with a couple of questions.

1) No - you don't need to leave Canada for 3.5 months.
2) No - you can't get your work permit at the airport. You can only obtain your work permit at the airport if you are arriving on an international flight. Otherwise you have to drive to a US/Canada land-border crossing.
