Hi guys,

I am working as a consultant in telecom field for one of the biggest operator. I have 10+ years of experience and have a working experience in different countries with different operators and vendors as a consultant.
As a telecom consultant, i usually do the duties mentioned in 0213 (NOC code) however my designation is not matching to any of the designation mentioned in NOC 0213 rather i am designated with data configuration engineer.

I need guidance to know that can I claim the points for work experience as stated above or not.

Looking forward to hearing from you guys,

FIL

Yes go a head & for better understanding about your Job category please check the following...

If the first digit is 0 like 0122, it's a manager job and is skilled
If the first digit is not 0 but the 2nd digit is 1, 2 or 3 like 1111 or 1212 it's a skill level A or B type job and is skilled.

If the first digit is not 0 but the 2nd digit is 4, 5 or 6 like 1433, then it's a skill level C or D type job and is not considered skilled.

Good points Sarmad, Thanks.

Hey Sal123..

Well..I had the same issue..working for a major telecom company..but not having the same designation.

Even after double checking the description & duties..i am sorry to tell that they have returned back my application.

Anyways..best of luck for you.

Hope it goes well for you.

Thanks guys for your valuable time

Iceberg: which designation you had used in your application ?

Guys, I am working as an expat consultant from last 4 years in 3 different countries but since the jobs are short termed contractual based so I am assigned with designation like configuration engineer and MSS engineer but job reposiblities match to NOC 0213 and my JD and high salaries testify to it. In field of contracting, usually designation do not match and sometimes due to quota issues for resident visa companies use engineer level designations from their available quotas.

I have appointment letter of engineer desingnation but managerial perks and my senior manager can testify to my current JD.

Looking forward to hearing from you,
